The growing demand for low carbon and responsibly sourced products is creating growth opportunities in critical metals recycling and secondary refining, and as the world’s largest precious metals recycler, PGMS is a key player in the circular economy._ This position is responsible for conducting, maintaining, evaluating, and coordinating Health Safety and Emergency Response activities in support of operations at our West Deptford facility. It supports PGMS’s efforts to prevent non-conformances, deviations, or violations, and maintain compliance with all State, Federal, and Local regulations including, but not limited to OSHA, while using guidance documents from NIOSH, ACGIH, NFPA, JM Corporate Health and Safety policies and industry standards as applicable. The incumbent performs a variety of program management, regulatory and legal record management along with other duties for the H&S department. **Your responsibilities:** + Manage health and safety programs (Lifesaving policies etc.) on site + Evaluate, develop and report accident statistics for the facility. + Participate in corporate internal and external audits. + Monitor and evaluate corrective actions for effectiveness. + Participate on teams targeting solutions to current safety issues. + Provide management with necessary information and advice to make informed decisions regarding safety and health issues. + Keep apprised of applicable H&S changes and prepare formal plans to adapt to these changes. + Conduct and document employees H&S training and educational programs outside of computer-based training topics, such as Respiratory Protection, Aerial lift, Fit test and others as requested. + Assist in the maintenance of an OSHA compliant respiratory program. + Perform and document H&S inspections and audits of the facility. + Work in a team environment to guide members of the maintenance, operations & engineering departments on H&S related issues. + Participates in Risk Assessments with all departments to determine the potential hazards of new processes and projects (capital projects and others) and ensure that all applicable Federal, State and Local regulations, along with industry standards (ANSI, NFPA, ACGIH) are investigated and communicated. + Evaluate, develop, and report accident statistics for the facility. + Participate in corporate internal and external audits. + Monitor and evaluate corrective actions for effectiveness. + Participate on teams targeting solutions to current safety issues. + Support Industrial Hygiene and exposure control programs. + Provide management with necessary information and advice to make informed decisions regarding safety and health issues. + Coordinates the Behavioural Based Safety Program in accordance with guidance provided through Regional and Corporate EH&S. + Liaison with EHS and PSRM teams as needed. + May perform other duties as assigned. **Requirements for the role:** + Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years EHS experience in Lab / manufacturing environment + Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a relevant EHS, engineering, or science curriculum or relevant EHS knowledge and Experience. + Experience with an Emergency Response program + Professional Certification (i.e. CSP, ASP, GSP, SMS, etc.) or ability to get one. + Knowledge of manufacturing processes and departments. **How you will be rewarded:** We offer a competitive compensation and JM Elements benefits package including bonus, excellent pension contributions and 20 days annual leave (varies for shift- based roles).
