Pay Range:

$55,600.00 - $91,450.00

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the safety records, programs, and implementation of safety policies at our Minneapolis, MN site. Employee must be detailed orientated and able to work within a team and with other employees of Bio-Techne. They will be expected to:

Update and maintain training recordsCreate and update Safety Datasheets and related hazard reportsManage hazardous waste programCreate and implement safety policiesCreate safety performance reports for management to reviewParticipate in the safety committeeUpdate a chemical databaseRespond to spillsDuties/Responsibilities:Update and generate Safety Datasheets and hazard labelsPerform Job Hazard AnalysesAct as a point of contact for that provide safety equipment and servicesPerform weekly hazardous waste water and environment inspectionsCreate and maintain waste profiles, sign, and maintain hazardous waste manifestsFile reports with government regulatory agenciesObtain required permits for the sitePerform safety inspectionsCreate safety performance reports for management to reviewParticipate in the safety committeeReimplement employee safety trainings Overseeing Site inspectionsVendor managementInvestigate workplace incidents and adverse events Participate in the medical response team providing CPR/First aidAssist in new hire training

Education and Experience:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience in a related field2-5 year of relevant experienceAbility to work with all levels of the organizationAccident investigation experienceRoot cause analysisAbility to read the Code of Federal RegulationsExperience with Microsoft OfficeAbility to wear a respiratorAbility to work standing 8hrs and lift 50lbs

OSHA 30Hazwoper 24USDOT Hazmat or IATA certificationFirst aid/CPR certificate (NSC or American Red Cross)Previous lab experiencePrevious experience with REACH and ROHSASP (Associate Safety Professional)Quantitative and qualitative data analysis skillsBasic understanding of environmental, health, and safety principles and practicesOrganizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to prioritize. Ability to communicate effectively; oral and writtenAbility to speak in multiple languages is a plus
