Job Summary:Ensures compliance with multiple Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) government regulations, corporate requirements and site policies.Supports all personnel, processes and equipment on-site to ensure work is performed in a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly manner

This position has been designated as On-Site.

Essential Job Functions

Evaluates processes and equipment to identify EHS related concerns.Recommends solutions and takes action to drive metric improvements and reduce hazards and risk.Inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations.Assists with development, tracking and trending of EHS key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilizes internal spreadsheets and Trane Technologies software to track progress.Coordinates EHS improvement projects with site personnel at all levels to ensure business continuity.Writes procedures and other communications to document and educate personnel about EHS topics.Inspects and maintains assigned EHS equipment, in accordance with regulatory and Trane Technologies requirements.Uses existing and new skills, knowledge and abilities to provide basic EHS compliance guidance and opportunities for improvement to site employees.Implements EHS requirements using Trane Technologies Business Operating System’s implementation guides and other available resources.Participates in Incident Investigations, 9- Step Problem Solving, EHS Gemba walks, Safety Committee and Green Team meetings, New Process / Equipment Reviews, (Risk Assessment and Job Safety Analyses). Follows up on corrective and preventive actions to drive closure of incident investigations, concerns and findings.Assists Leadership Team with driving Safety as a core value.Assists with the development and presentation of EHS training to individuals and groups for compliance, onboarding, employee development and awareness.Assists with ergonomic assessments and identification of workstation improvements.Assists with Project Management and oversees contractors/staffing for EHS projects.Maintains hazardous and special waste staging areas, complete waste and storm water inspections and take corrective actions when necessary to maintain compliance and best practices.Supports and collaborates with the EHS team on other routine tasks as assigned.Provide occasional after-hours support to assist site personnel with emergency situations.Assist and drive projects focusing on sustainability (energy/ waste/ water reductions).Assess office and plant ergonomics and ensure corrective actions are completedParticipate and/or lead safety teams (facility, manufacturing, Green Team, ergonomics, first responders)Perform duties associated with the management of hazardous waste (after successful completion of training). To include, but not limited to, labeling, weighing, inspections/audits, shipment.Support and collaborate with EHS Manager on tasks as assignedOther duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED) is required.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Safety, Environmental Studies, Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.Additional degrees and/or related coursework or experience will be considered.Knowledge of local, state and federal laws/environmental, health and safety regulatory compliancePrevious experience within Environmental, Health, and Safety in a manufacturing setting is a plus.Ability to adjust priorities accordingly, without being prompted, based on risk and business needs.Strong organizational skillsAbility to work with excel, word, power point, outlook and internet explorerMust be flexible and able to work all hours, including weekends and off shifts as required

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephone.  Mobility within the work facility. Ability to maintain EHS spaces. Utilize material handling equipment to assist site personnel with the set-up and organizing of areas that store chemicals, waste and water.

 This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.

Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $47,000 - $70,000

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
