EHS & IT Representative you will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and sustainment of EHS programs to ensure the safety of all associates, visitors and contractors; protect the environment, and maintain compliance with all global and local regulations. This position works closely with all departments to ensure EH&S is a team effort.Job Description
Compile and submit accident reports required by AAM and regulatory agencies. Report all incidents in the EHS System (Donesafe) as required and report out to staff (internal & Corporate)Participate in the weekly Global EHS call every Monday morningConduct tests and field investigations to obtain data for use by environmental, engineering, and scientific personnel in determining sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil by performing the following dutiesDirecting plant safety teamMake studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agenciesFormulate general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulationsWork with HR to contribute to the development and update(s) of safety policies and handbooksInspecting/auditing of facility and work areas to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards; recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicatedReport Environmental KPI’s to monthly Steering Committee Devise, supervising, and coordinating training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousnessPrepare and arrange safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences and exhibitionsEnsure that the EMS is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with ISO 14001 StandardsUpdate monthly compliance calendarMonitor and report on Environmental issuesMaintain S4 status through the 11 Elements of our corporate EH&S SystemsAll other duties as assigned.Required Skills and Education
Degree in related field, or 3+ years experience, or a combination of education and experience.Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft OfficePrevious experience completing incident investigation reportsGeneral knowledge on OSHA/IOSHA requirementsAbility to facilitate safety trainingStrong organizational skillsStrong decision-making and problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain confidential information and to communicate information regarding compliance performance or other business issues strictly on a need-to-know basisAbout AAM:
