We are seeking an experienced ESH Policy Writer to join our team tasked with developing and implementing comprehensive Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the Chemical or Refinery industry, with a focus on Occupational and Process Safety. This role will involve adapting existing policies from other sites specific needs, as well as creating new policies where necessary.
The position is based in Bay City, TX, and required to be on site 2-3 times a week, preference to full-time on-site.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update ESH policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand site-specific requirements and integrate best practices into policies.
- Conduct reviews and audits of existing policies, recommending improvements based on industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Translate technical concepts into clear, concise policy documents accessible to all levels of the organization.
- Provide guidance on ESH issues, including People/Occupational Safety, Process Safety, Security (Physical), Environmental, and Industrial Hygiene.
- Support training initiatives by creating materials that effectively communicate policy requirements.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ESH policy development within the Chemical or Refinery industry; ideal experience range is 5-10 years.
- Strong understanding of Occupational Safety and Process Safety principles and regulations.
- Proven ability to write clear, detailed policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat; experience with Inteliquest is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, but not required.
