SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Operations Director, the Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for providing support to the Lakeland production plant, project teams, the management team, supervisors, managers, and production / operations team members in Safety, Environment and Health. This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety, Environment and Health requirements for the Division.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAbility to manage the plants overall safety, environment, and health programs.Provide support to the operations by maintaining a visible presence to the plant multiple times per day.Assist in the coaching, mentoring, and implementing HS&E programsRegularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation, laws, and applicable standards and for safety, health, and environmental related to of the plant and its employeesInform the business leaders of any new or conflictive legislative mattersDevelop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure a safe work environment for the employees, contractors, visitors and community.Review safety obligations of the plant and ensure they are carried out as per the terms of the agreement, and communicated to the business and all key stakeholdersMonitor safety performance and ensure company procedures and regulatory requirements are met and exceeded.Perform safety audits of the plant and perform periodic compliance audits.Maintain and develop the safety program file for each job.Utilize OSHA and other regulatory guidelines as a reference for coaching and training employeesImmediately correct or facilitate the correction of items / conditions out of compliance to safety standards or company policy.Review safety audits with the safety committee ensuring understanding and provide copy of safety audit to Operations / Production Manager, and Business Unit ManagerLead or assist with accident or near miss investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions. Ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported and documented.Track all quarterly safety matrix (LTA / MTI / Near Misses / First Aid) - Ability to grow the environmental, health, and safety program to world class standardsLead and/ or participate in the safety committee at plant, support safety committee at division levelEnsure that sufficient PPE is available and used appropriately.Represent the company at safety meetings and conferences.Keep up-to-date on all company safety policies, OSHA, ANSI, and other regulatory standards.Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained, inspected, calibrated and repaired or put out-of-service as necessary.Ability to implement, guide and instruct HSE trainingEnsure that all vehicles are inspected and properly maintained to include ensuring that they have the required safety items stored properly to include fire extinguishers, first aid kit, safety data sheets, dry air and cylinders, etc.Loss control responsibilities include: Understanding, supporting and compliance with all plant policies, procedures and applicable regulations; conducting applicable Loss Control Challenge activities, including inspections and audits as assigned; completion of assigned Loss Control action items; and completion of regulatory and other required trainingOther duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully. ­               Bachelor's Degree – Safety related field­ 5 to 7 years of safety related experience in a manufacturing environment.­ Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) desired­ Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations and requirements (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.).­ Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations and requirements (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.).­ Must have the skill and ability to conduct and/or support sensitive investigations involving company personnel, assets and/or proprietary information.­ Familiarity with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems preferred.­ Knowledgeable in the technical fundamentals of safety management and risk assessments and reduction, including machinery safety, ergonomics, and occupational health.
