The EHR Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining electronic health records within a healthcare or medical setting. This role involves ensuring accurate documentation, updating patient information, and supporting the healthcare team by organizing and handling digital records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities:
Accurately enter and update patient data in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Retrieve and organize patient records for healthcare providers as needed for patient care.
Ensure all medical documents are scanned, filed, and maintained in accordance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
Assist in verifying the completeness and accuracy of patient records, identifying and correcting any errors.
Communicate with medical staff to clarify record entries or follow up on missing documentation.
Support the EHR system updates and contribute to improving workflow processes for electronic records.
Handle requests for medical records from patients, providers, and authorized parties while maintaining confidentiality.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or similar credential.
Prior experience with specific EHR systems, such as Epic or Cerner.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Associate degree in Health Information Management or a related field.
Education:
High School

1-4 years
Qualifications:
Experience in a medical office, health information management, or a similar role.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and privacy standards.
