The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will administer and lead environmental, safety, and health programs in accordance with the Mine Safety and Health Act, EPA requirements and applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations. The EH&S Manager directs the organizations EHS efforts to protect employees and the Company against harm, maintain safe working conditions and reduce our environmental footprint.
You will have the opportunity to:
Conduct risk assessments of potentially hazardous tasks or conditions and design interventions
Lead investigations of all accidents and injuries making recommendations for corrective action
Maintain an on-going incident prevention management system. Inspect and tour facility to detect existing or potential physical and health hazards and recommend corrective or preventive action
Manage and have overall responsibility of environmental compliance under ISO 14001 requirements
Assist with maintaining Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures
Oversee and audit compliance with hazardous and universal waste requirements, air and water permit compliance, storm water contamination prevention and relevant Department of Homeland Security requirements
Develop budgets and manage activities to accomplish financial objectives, including continuous improvement measures that increase overall productivity while reducing costs
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or sciences, occupational health, biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering / physics or equivalent degree
CSP, CHMM and / or CIH certification preferred
A minimum 6 years of experience in the field of Environmental, Health & Safety management with a track record of consistent improvement in EHS objectives
A minimum 6 years of experience in designing/managing programs aimed at ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory EHSS agencies
Experience with environmental water and air permit compliance; EPA regulations on Storm Water Pollution Prevention and Toxic Substance Control Act; ISO 14001; OSHA safety and health regulations and policies relevant to the metals industry; MSHA regulation and training requirements
A minimum 10 years of EH&S experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
