Training schedule for new hires:
First 4 months (March-July) shift will be Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm.
After July training will continue on days (7a-7p), nights (7p-7a), or a swing (11a-11p) including every other weekend and holiday. Final work schedule will be determined based on the needs of the department.
All candidates must be willing to work days during first four months of training
and be willing to work days 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am, swing shift (11am-11pm) and every other weekend and holiday. Placement on a certain shift can not be guaranteed and based on needs of the department.
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, the EEG Technologist Apprentice functions as a trainee and follows established policies and procedures to support functions essential to the operations of the Epilepsy Center. The EEG Technologist Apprentice will receive training and instruction in performing electroencephalographic examinations and/or epilepsy monitoring.

Applies suitable electrodes on predetermined measured positions and selecting appropriate montages.Calibrates and adjusts equipmentObserves patients with video and digital recording equipment; ensures EEG and tape are lined up exactly; checks focus, lighting and microphoneAbstracts relevant patient information from clinical record and obtains additional information by questioning.Applies electrodes, respiration monitors and EKGOther duties assignedEducation:
High School Diploma or GEDKnowledge of physical and biological sciences normally attained through high school course work with emphasis in those areasKnowledge of medical terminology preferred.Languages:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within one month of hire.Complexity of Work:

A high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC< normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying 50 poundsAbility to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e. pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.Ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.Personal Protective Equipment:
