Responsibilities
The EEG Tech II performs routine and complex electroencephalograms (EEGs) on patients of all ages, adhering to established protocols and safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of neurophysiology, seizure disorders, and EEG patterns, as well as the ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify artifacts. The EEG Tech II also assists with advanced procedures such as evoked potentials, sleep studies, and intraoperative monitoring, and may provide training and mentorship to junior EEG technicians. They are responsible for accurate documentation, patient education, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment, contributing to the overall quality of neurological diagnostic services.
Must be able to perform basic neurology procedures; EEG.Explains purpose and procedure to patient and/or family prior to and during procedure(s).Critical thinking skills are evident in providing patient care as demonstrated through direct observation and feedback. Assesses critical care patients and monitors status. Documentation is completed appropriately.Documents complete care of patient. Performs thorough patient assessment and documents completely, completes necessary forms for tests and complete all appropriate charting on treatment flow sheets and charges for procedures.Assists with Cardiology procedures (EKG, Stress Testing, Muse Editing, etc.) as required.Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days.
