MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo present and facilitate Higher Education and Training programmes and courses to Mediclinic students and employees in order to acquire competence (incl. cognitive, psychomotor and affective skills) as independent healthcare practitioners on completion of training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASEnsure compliance to Higher Education & Training and American Heart Association (AHA) standards
Design and assess learning material and interventions
Facilitate learning process, incl. theoretical and clinical facilitation
Coordinate and administrate student-related processes
REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: SANC registered postgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing
SANC registered postgraduate qualification in Nursing Education (or in progress or willing to commence as soon as possible)
Diploma / Degree in Nursing
Master's Degree in Nursing (or in progress or willing to commence as soon as possible)
DESIRED EDUCATION: PhD in Nursing
Postgraduate qualification in Health Service Management / Nursing Administration will serve as a recommendation
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years experience as a scrub practitioner
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 5 years' experience as a scrub practitioner
Higher Education and Training (HET) experience
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Instructional Design (ADDIE model) and the application thereof Demonstrate competence in compilation procedures Nursing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Computer literate (Microsoft Office) Mediclinic Training and Nursing Policies and Procedures Group facilitation tools, techniques and best practices Understanding of learning and development quality management Blooms taxonomy of assessment and evaluation Adult Learning Principles Mentoring and coaching Scholarly skills Assessment and Moderation Education, Training and other relevant healthcare related legislation and its application within Mediclinic training environmentAll applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
