Job Summary
Under the direction of the Division Director, the Program Manager for the Division of Georgia Department of Education - Office of School and District Improvement (SDI) manages and leads the effective implementation of internal operations and the continuous improvement support of both federally identified and non-identified schools and districts.
The position leads and coordinates the following activities to support effective continuous improvement for federally identified and non-identified schools:
Professional Learning
+ Coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of division professional learning events
+ Communicate and coordinate with other entities as necessary to develop, implement and monitor professional learning
+ Assess the effectiveness of division professional learning and resources provided internally and externally
School Improvement Funding
+ Coordinate the disbursement of 1003a SI funds
+ Provide support and supervision of cross-functional monitoring for LEAs and RESAs
+ Provide support and monitor LEA budget approvals and amendments in consolidated application
+ Ensure all agency processes are followed
+ Manage the creation, implementation, and monitoring of grant opportunities
Division Assessment and Accountability
+ Coordinate the development, implementation, and monitoring of division review processes
+ Lead ongoing data collection and analysis for schools, districts, and division
+ Monitor development and implementation of applications used for division data collection
+ Establish progress monitoring calendar for division and provide ongoing updates to deputy and director
+ Lead data analysis to determine impact of division initiatives and goals
Statewide Supports
+ Manage responses to requests for support from identified and non-identified schools and districts
+ Coordinate development, implementation and monitoring of processes and resources for statewide supports
+ Collaborate and coordinate statewide supports with other GaDOE divisions and external entities.
Internal Operations
+ Manage the orientation process for new staff
+ Manage the division’s technology assets and physical resources
+ Prepare State Board of Education items for approval
+ Oversee the creation of Deputy Superintendent’s presentations
+ Collaborate with other divisions to ensure efficient communication and operations
+ Manage contracts and all contractual obligations with external agencies and vendors
Preferred Qualifications :
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, have experience in the following:
+ Must have school and/or district-level turnaround leadership experience
+ Must have principal experience
+ Must have knowledge of performance standards and instructional design
+ Must be self-directed and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
+ Must have working knowledge of current research on school improvement and professional learning initiatives/programs
+ Master’s or doctoral degree in education, education administration or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory/administrative or teacher-leader role in professional learning/staff development at the school, system, or state level
+ Experience with K-12 school improvement programs
+ Experience with program monitoring, data collection, reporting, and facilitating the necessary technical assistance to ensure not only compliance, but quality programs for students
+ Strong knowledge of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
+ Experience implementing comprehensive school reform programs or initiatives
+ Experience conducting program evaluations
+ Successful experience with designing, planning, developing, and conducting professional learning programs that are job- embedded and focused on impacting student achievement
This is a remote position, extensive in-state travel is required.

Bachelor's degree in education, administration, public administration, or a related administrative field in the area of assignment from an accredited college or university, L-5 certification, and two (2) years of program management experience in an educational setting.
