Job Title: EDS Operations and Logistics Coordinator

FLSA Status: Full Time - exempt
Reports to: Director of Emergency Disaster Services & Service Extension

Schedule: 8:30AM – 5:00PM, M-F

Rate of Pay: $62,400 Annually

Function
Under the direction of the Director of Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) & Service Extension (SE), the EDS Operations & Logistics Coordinator (EDS OPS/LOGS C) will improve our divisional capacity for EDS by coordinating EDS operations and logistics. Under operations, this role will coordinate EDS response efforts, maintain the readiness of EDS workers, and develop/train EDS operations plans. Under logistics, this role will ensure that our vehicles and equipment are maintained, tracked, and stocked for operational readiness, that we maintain adequate stock of EDS supplies, that we build/maintain relationships with EDS/SE vendor partners, and coordinate logistics-related projects. This position will help increase the impact of divisional EDS efforts in improving our response capacity and quality, resulting in more financial income and partnerships.


Duties and Responsibilities

Operations

Maintain operational readiness by monitoring, supporting, and coordinating EDS Workers (volunteers, officers, and staff); Develop, implement, and monitor operational plans and procedures for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. Coordinates and leads emergency/disaster relief and response efforts. In response, serve in incident command roles as assigned; Provide oversight for the safety and well-being of deployed EDS workers Participate in and/or conduct trainings and exercises for EDS workers and with emergency management partners as assigned;  Represent TSA in VOAD networks and other pertinent non-profit emergency management networks as assigned;


Logistics - Vehicle and Equipment Management

Oversee the maintenance schedule for all EDS vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are serviced and operational, with the support of the EDS/SE Field Representatives and the field. Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and repairs. Coordinate EDS vehicle/equipment builds and rehabbing projects.  Ensure EDS vehicles/equipment are clean at all times. Ensure proper vehicle registration, insurance, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Logistics - Disaster Supplies Management Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all disaster supplies, including supplies for EDS vehicles Coordinate the distribution and replenishment of disaster supplies as needed. Ensure proper storage and tracking of disaster supplies in our warehouse and facilities throughout the division. Inspect and maintain disaster equipment such as generators, tents, and mobile kitchens. Coordinate logistics for the movement of supplies during disaster responses, including tracking
and documentation.


Duties and Responsibilities (continued)

 Logistics - Vendor and Partner Management Build and maintain relationships with disaster-related vendor partners, including suppliers of food, equipment, and logistics services. Work with vendors on response/support plans; Coordinate with vendors in disaster response situations. Serve as the primary point of contact between The Salvation Army and its disaster-related vendor partners.

During emergencies/disasters within the Intermountain Division

Support EDS/SE with ordering, managing, and delivering related supplies. Lead, coordinate, and/or participate in EDS response/recovery efforts with the support of the EDS/SE Field Representatives and the field.

General Responsibilities

Support the coordination of operations/logistics during disaster drills and exercises. Assist with the creation and updating of logistics procedures and protocols. Report regularly to EDS leadership on the status of vehicles, supplies, and vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with TSA’s guidelines, safety standards, and local/state/federal regulations. Represent TSA as a public speaker, emergency management trainer, and/or conference panelist as assigned; Attend seminars, conferences, and workshops on related topics, as requested; With approval, deploy to national/international disasters to support Salvation Army emergency efforts.  Any other duties as assigned by the Divisional EDS/SE Director.


Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications

Education/ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Emergency Management, Nonprofit Management, or a related field;One year or more of EDS/Emergency Management experience, preferred: One year or more of logistics/warehousing experience, preferred;

Skills

 Excellent oral and written communication skills Willingness and comfort with driving and working on vehicles and equipment. Computer literate in Microsoft suite

Supervisory experience and the ability to motivate others
• Qualifications

The capability to work with minimal supervision Must be able to travel Must be willing to drive/operate large vehicles and equipment – All necessary training would be provided Be available to respond 24/7 during disasters and emergencies, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Willingness to travel and deploy to affected areas for extended periods.


• Driving

A minimum age of 21 and possession of a valid in-state driver’s license is required. An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies. Willingness to drive/operate large vehicles and equipment

• Background Check

Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.

Physical Requirements

Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand written information.
