EDS D&R Engineer

The CAE/EDS Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, development and validation of the vehicle wiring. Engineer create, maintain and store schematics for simulation required to perform the applicable test procedures as well as the test reports. As an EESE CAE/EDS Systems Engineer, you could work on any stage of the GPDS process, from initial UN-V0 design right through to FDJ.

What you’ll need...

Engineering Degree (electrical desirable) or related disciplines.Strong English Proficiency (written, read, and oral).Electrical Distribution System tool usage (Mentor Graphics Capital HarnessXC or E3 Zuken Formboard)Electrical Distribution System tool usage ( E3 Zuken Cable or Mentor Graphics Capital Design) experience.Microsoft Office Usage (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Visio).Time and Project ManagementUnderstanding of feature partitioning.Understanding of automotive systems.• Excellent team working and people skills

What you'll do...

Conduct electric CAE analysis to solve technical challenges of automotive electric components and systems, supporting initiatives to reduce time to market, engineering changes, and physical prototype builds using GPDS.Perform detailed CAE analyses to verify vehicle attribute targets through a consistent CAE Plan based on analytical Design Verification Methods (DVM) and linked to SDS/ARL.Interact with design teams (D&R, CAD, VE) to achieve project scope, technical deliverables, timeline, validation plan, cost targets, and documentation.Support new programs and cost reduction initiatives through CAE methods, including creating, developing, and maintaining logical and physical schematics, vehicle level topology, and performing architecture optimization studies.Design power distribution, grounding, wire and protection device sizing, assign circuit and connector numbers, define harness to harness in-line connector pin outs and terminal sizing, review circuit simulation, and perform engineering cost estimates.
