Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Editorial Designer in Detroit, Michigan. This role is situated in the publishing industry and involves designing books, magazines, covers, and content design. The job requires a good understanding of typography and formatting and a knack for creative design. Responsibilities: • Conceptualize, design, and produce visually engaging books and magazines. • Create compelling cover designs that attract and captivate readers. • Develop well-structured page layouts for content, adhering to industry standards. • Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign effectively for design tasks. • Design brochures, flyers, and other promotional materials as required. • Collaborate with the production team to ensure design quality and consistency. • Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to design. • Stay updated with current design trends and incorporate them into the work when suitable. • Coordinate with the printing team to ensure the final output meets design specifications. • Carry out revisions based on feedback from stakeholders. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Editorial Designer or similar role • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign • Demonstrable experience with brochures and copy layouts • Proven skills in page layout design and comprehensive layout • Familiarity with print production processes • Strong visual design skills, including an eye for good typography, composition, and use of color • Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to high design standards • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field would be a plus.
