The Australian team is seeking an experienced Economics Reporter to join them in a full time capacity based in the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery. This role forms a critical part of the Australian's leading coverage of politics and economics.


Key Responsibilities

Report and analyse economic data, reports, and speeches

Reporting to the Canberra bureau chief and editors in Sydney

Come up with your own ideas for engaging digital and print content

Ensure that dynamic, original and interesting economics content is being produced efficiently

Produce fast, clean copy that interests our readership

Who are you?

Strong understanding of economics, politics and finance

Have senior reporting experience on economics

Be able to generate unique stories through contacts and data analysis Able to intersect the economic developments with political consequences

You want to tell stories, in words, pictures, video and audio

You can write clearly and concisely

Work in a team environment
