ActivitiesThe main purpose of this position is to manage the Projects ED obligations and ensure ED compliance during all phases of the project:
Design and Implement Economic Development strategies that will be applied at the various stages of a project cycle (i.e. during the development, construction and operations.)Compilation and timeous submission of all Project ED related reports (ED Plan, Monthly, Quarterly & Annual Reports, Board Reports etc.) to Management, IPPO, lenders and other stakeholdersManage communication with IPP Office and other stakeholders on all Economic Development topics, while maintaining a positive relationshipContinually improve, review, evaluate and monitor the Projects Economic Development obligationsProvide input for Economic Development budgets and assist in obtaining approvalCreate Economic Development Management and Community Management PlansCreating and implementing Economic Development templates, tools and processes to ensure Economic Development complianceContinually monitor the Projects Economic Development performance by evaluating the project activities `actual vs. forecast`, on an EPC,IPP & Project levelEnsure that the Projects Economic Development Performance does not result in terminationContinually monitor Economic Development Risks and propose mitigation plans to the Management teamContinually monitor the Project and Contractors Economic Development ObligationsEnsure supporting information required for Economic Development audits are up to date, saved neatly and well structured Provide assistance and oversee Economic Development Consultants Establish a long-term vision and measurable objectives to transform host communitiesAssist in implementing, monitoring and evaluating Community Development programmes such as Socio-Economic Development; Supplier Development, Enterprise Development and Skills Development Assist with stakeholder management and community workshopsAssist Economic Development audits performed by the Department of Energy, the IPP Office or Independent Auditors;Conduct regular Economic Development audits on Project level and Contractor levelProvide administrative support to Economic Development Manager on all Project Phases:Bidding Award to FCConstructionOperations Candidate Profile Previous experience in Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Programme (REIPPPP) Project Bidding, Award to Financial Close, Construction and Operations2 - 5 years’ experience in all elements of Economic Development as per REIPPPP Good knowledge of Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE)National Diploma in Project Management/Social Sciences/Development studies/any equivalent NQF level are advantages Fluent in English and ability to speak/read/write one additional languageAttention to detailExcellent communication and presentation skills with small and large groupsAble to work independentlyAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, Microsoft Teams/SharePoint and Office Suite 365 skillsWorking knowledge and experience in different types of filing systems and good communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to travel from time to timeBased in Cape TownA valid Driver’s license Additional Information TotalEnergies values diversity, promotes individual growth and offers equal opportunity careers.
