ECHO CARDIOGRAPHER
+ POSITION SUMMARY + Reports To: + Manager, Cardiopulmonary + Summary: + The Echo Cardiographer will be required to perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) with M-Mode, two dimensional and Doppler procedures in accordance with department policy and protocols, obtaining all required views and any additional views to provide a highly diagnostic study. The employee is responsible for performing echocardiogram studies on both inpatient and outpatients. + Work Schedule: + Weekday coverage M-F; 7A-5P as needed + SKILLS & ABILITIES + Education + Graduate of a reputable or accredited Allied Health program (Technical training, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree) or equivalent education and experience. + Experience + Two year’s previous related experience in echocardiography preferred. Must be willing to continually upgrade skills through independent and/or structured educational program. Stress Echo experience preferred. + Computer Skills + Proficient in Microsoft office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility. + Certificates & Licenses + A credential or board eligibility in Echocardiography from the ARDMS or CCI. BLS Certification required + Other Requirements + Ability to work with others in emergency situations. Knowledge of Congenital heart defects, professional regulation and facility/program accreditation requirements. Must be able to make decisions and use judgement in ambiguous situations. Will be working independently with minimal supervision. Infection control understanding a plus. knowledge of patient handling techniques and procedures and protocols necessary to provide patient safety is essential to this position. This position requires frequent standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, lifting and carrying 0-50 lbs and pushing and pulling 0-40 lbs.
