Early Childhood Lead Teacher Infant Room - Pete's Place
Supervision of Infants ages 6 weeks up to 24 months. Under general supervision, and according to specific procedures, the Lead Teacher (ECLT) is responsible for planning and executing classroom activities, assisting in the maintenance of a safe, healthy and stimulating classroom environment, provide constant supervision of infants at all times including planning time, outside play, meal time, and nap time. Assists in the monitoring and training of Assistant Teachers (ECAT), Trainees and Supportive Staff. Maintains sensitivity to infant’s individuality and responds to those needs appropriately and quickly by guiding the behavior of infants in positive, effective ways. Maintains the highest level of professionalism at all times. Encourage experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization to promote further learning and thinking. Prepare the classroom environment and materials to support developmentally appropriate curriculum plans and learning experiences. Assess individual and group needs, attending to specific interests, strengths and concerns. Coordinate with Assistant Teachers when indicated, developing a collaborative approach that benefits all infants in classroom. Monitor and report child abuse. Attend and participate in trainings and appropriate professional development activities. Attend and participate in meetings. Engage in ongoing self-assessment about job performance. Equally shared cleaning and sanitizing responsibility with the ECAT. Follow State Licensing Regulation, Health Department and Fire Marshal Standards.
