Early Childhood Education Manager
Early Childhood Education Manager Summary Purpose for the Position: Provide overall educational and program reporting support to the Deputy. In coordination with the Deputy, may be required to create new approaches to solving problems that may arise in non-routine situations involving education programming and program education reporting systems which may commit the organization. Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill): Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education, Special Education, Human Development or any other field related to child growth and two years’ experience in child care. Must possess administrative management and/or specialized skills and knowledge with experience. Must have current physical exam, mantoux tuberculosis screening, and clearances. Ability to work with a culturally diverse workforce and client base is essential. Ability to research and analyze information from a variety of sources and comprehend its elements to insure program educational goals and objectives are met and maintained. Ability to collate and disseminate program educational information. Develop and gather needed information to maintain program educational record keeping and reporting systems. Develop formal training materials for structured training sessions involving staff, parents, community agencies, and other local, state, and federal programs. Facilitate formal training seminars for staff, parents, community agencies, and other local, state, and federal programs. Position Responsibilities: This position must coordinate with other Division support staff to insure program collaboration. In coordination with the Deputy, schedule center visits. Evaluate, observe and provide written and verbal feedback to center staff regarding compliance to HHS Program Performance Standard, providing written results of visits to Deputy, Child Family Development Program Region II. Remain cognizant of new trends in child development theory. Must develop a complete understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and application of responsibilities. Facilitates educational operations for Center management staff under the direction of the Deputy, CFDP. Region and the Director, Child and Family Development Programs. Interprets and/or advises to clarify understand. Composes own verbal written responses based on the nature of the request or situation of a more varied nature via center visits and reporting on findings to the Deputy. Must demonstrate the ability to persuade/teach to secure a particular course of action, and to communicate with inter-agency personnel and center management, parents, community representatives, and direct service staff. Position has direct supervision responsibilities. Must be able to resolve programmatic conflict when necessary. Must be able to follow the progressive discipline as stated in the Employee Handbook. Determines the steps, methods, and procedures necessary for fulfilling identified project/program policy or management objectives. Assures program education and keystone stars reports are collated and completed and forwarded to appropriate source in a timely manner. Assists Deputy to assure program educational integrity and quality programming. Develop and implement strategies for integrating the components of the Head Start Program Performance Standards at the center level. Identify available resources from local, state, and federal resources and other agencies to supplement center operations. Coordinate and implement CDA Program. Coordinate child development program and insure child assessment and testing requirements are met. Maintenance of local, state, and federal professional affiliations that result in accessing individuals and families to service community education development of public policy initiatives. Working Conditions/Environment: Routine lifting of 0-60 pounds. Moderate exposure to individuals at high risk of being infected with serious illness.
