The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for an Early Career NASA Spaceflight Power and Battery Systems Test Director with electrical and battery technology experience to support spaceflight systems testing at Johnson Space Center.   This engineering position involves managing and conducting tests on spaceflight hardware that will fly in future missions.

This position requires a self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, have strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise, and be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner. The individual must share our passion for our Nation’s Space Program and share in the excitement of developing the next generation of human-rated space vehicles and flight hardware.

Responsibilities:

Develop hardware test plans and schedules. Create cost and time estimates for tests. Integrate test equipment, as necessary, to accomplish desired test outcomes. Create and interpret drawings of test setups and review drawing changes. Participate in Test Readiness Reviews. Manage test data and create reports based on the data. Plan and manage battery cell tests and work with technicians at the battery test facility.

This work takes place at NASA/JSC in Houston, TX, a highly stimulating and dynamic environment that is critical in human space flight and the space exploration initiative.

Qualifications:

Required: 

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to USG facilities. B.S. in Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferred, or related field of study. Related work experience is a plus. Experience using data acquisition systems in powered testing. Strong technical and analytical skills. Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision. Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic. Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills.

Desired: 

M.S. in Electrical or Chemical Engineering. Experience with Arbin data acquisition systems.Experience with Graphite, Creo, or other 3D drawing software.Experience writing, reviewing, and executing engineering orders or Test Preparation Sheets.Experience with calorimeter testing. Electrical Power Quality Testing Techniques.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$58,000 - 115,900 USD
