Dual Property Food Server
Overview As a Food Server you are responsible for ensuring that Guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing exceptional service. This position requires Team Members to carry out consistent tasks at a steady pace. We are currently seeking positive, genuine, and hard-working applicants who take pride in guest service and interactions with both our Guests and Team Members. Through the dual property employment, the employee will be hosted at two separate locations throughout the year, split into a summer season position and winter season position. During the summer season, April through November, the Team Member will be located at Inn at Bay Harbor in the position of a Food Server. Then November through March, the Team Member will have full-time employment at The Highlands or Boyne Mountain Resort filling any needed position for the season. Make all our Guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them. Inform Guests of specials and menu changes. Make recommendations you genuinely feel your Guests will enjoy. Upsell food and beverage items by using suggestive selling techniques. Answer questions regarding regions where food products come from, and how food is prepared. Describe in detail tastes and textures. Answer questions regarding wine list, where wine comes from the vintage and the aromas & flavors of the wines. Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services. Take food and beverage orders from Guests, enter orders into our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar. Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter. Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment. Maintain clean service areas. Monitor and observe Guests dining experience. Ensure Guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests. Prepare final bill, present check to Guest, accept payment, process credit card charges, or make change (if applicable). Assist fellow servers as situations arise as needed. Assist with clearing and resetting tables as needed. Qualifications Must be 18 years old. Servers must either possess ServSafe certification or obtain it upon hire.
