Dry Dock Interiors Maintenance (Sustainment) Manager
Job Summary:

About the Role & Team

Under the oversight of the Dry Dock Interiors Manager, you will manage the execution of approved dry dock scope of work for fleet interiors maintenance (sustainment) projects during the dry-docking period.

You will be joining a dynamic and dedicated team responsible for maintaining the high standards of our fleet's interiors. Our team collaborates closely with various departments, including hotel operations, marine and technical operations, and environmental compliance, to ensure seamless project execution. This role is based in Disney Cruise Line’s London Hammersmith office and requires approx. 3 months of global travel per year – incl. full presence during dry dock periods.

What You Will Do

Develop, plan and execute Interiors maintenance projects during the dry-docking period

Responsible for writing detailed scopes of work and technical specification for interiors maintenance projects

Provide appropriate documentation, including technical specification for approved scope delivery

Produce Technical product specifications as required, consult with external bodies for Regulatory compliance and Industry best practice

Evaluate vendor proposals, providing detailed breakdowns and recommendations to Senior Leadership

Conduct research into new ideas, products and upcoming regulatory changes to ensure continued compliance

Responsible for ensuring all relevant documentation is updated and included within project and maintenance management system (AMOS)

Liaise with key operational partners, including hotel operations, Marine & Technical Operations, ADA and Environmental compliance for Dry Dock interior work planning

Partner with Shipyard, Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI), Contracted Vendors, and external Regulatory bodies as required (LR- RO- WDI-WDW) for approved scope delivery

Manage additional consulting team members tasked with specific Project areas

Act as primary point of contact for shipboard leadership regarding Dry Dock interiors maintenance work during the dry-docking period

Liaise with ship's leadership for feedback on project delivery and ongoing support requirements

Liaise with shipboard Senior Management for technical support including additional labour, approved scope coordination, and warranty support as required

Liaise with DCL Purchasing and DCL Internal Partners for owner supply equipment and materials

Negotiate Contract selection to balance Quality and Cost considerations

Manage Project material and labour costs ensure projects stay within budget and are completed on time

Oversee quality assurance throughout all phases of design, installation, and completion, providing performance feedback for consultants and vendors

Oversee and verify all Technical Safety implications are considered

Ensure vendor safety standards and project outcomes meet Disney’s quality assurance and safety requirements Provide regular updates and reports on designated projects

Accompany and oversee sub-contractors onboard whilst undertaking work, liaising with shipboard leadership for co-ordination, technical & safety matters

Ensure sub-contractors provide all material safety certification, as fitted drawings and manufacturers manuals where appropriate

Safety Management Systems (SMS) responsibility to uphold the general safety management responsibilities in areas under their control.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Higher education related to Maritime Engineering, Design, Project or Facilities Management or comparable experience

Solid experience within the Maritime Industry, specifically spent working with Passenger Vessels

Project Management experience required, with preference given to candidates with formal Project Management qualifications

Demonstrated experience with budgetary responsibilities

Dry Dock experience preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Proficiency in project management software and tools

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards within interior outfitting, ideally with specific standards focusing on cruise ship interiors

Ability to travel and work on-site during dry-docking periods
