Job Description:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Undertake the conceptualization, innovative planning, and proper community mobilization in managing DRR activities and guide and supervise field assistance and also government staff in mobilizing community, beneficiary selection, and implement DRR activities.Work with Project Manager in leading WVSS disaster response activities in Warrap field office and coordinate proper and timely implementation of DRR activities as per the donor requirement, facilitate the implementation of the project as per the quality standard of the donors and WV.Work with other project officers (Livelihood and WASH) and ensure that DRR activities are planned, implemented, and reported on timeProvide technical lead in the area of DRR and DRM, building staffs and partner capacity through technical support and training in the area of community resilience for disaster and Natural Resource Management and to ensure smallholder farmers have knowledge on improved NRM practices.Develop and manage beneficiary selection assessment including establishing criteria for the design, selection and response planning and work closely with the safeguarding and inclusion focal person on the ground, ensure disaster affected population are impartially provided the project support with response and their protection enhanced during the time they are within WVSS response interventionWorking with the sector officers of the project, ensure that project interventions are implemented appropriately, and either alone, or an integrated way ensuring that continued responses are received by the affected population and in collaboration with other project staff develop and submit all sorts of reports and submit to project the managerEnsue proper budget planning and expenditure monitoring for the DRR/DRM component of the projectDo other task given to him or her by the supervisor.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

A Degree in Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management, Agriculture, Social Sciences or related field; a collage diploma with the same disciple listed above commensurate with relevant years of experience can be considered.A Certificate/Diploma related to DRR and Resilience will be an added advantageAt least 2 years plus working experience in Disaster Risk Reduction;Good interpersonal and communication skillsKnowledge and experience in facilitating training in DRR, EW/Anticipatory action and Natural Resource Management,
