Job Description

As a Driver Helper, you will assist in delivering products to job sites, load and unload trucks by hand, and occasionally operate a forklift (training and certification provided). You will also be responsible for stocking the warehouse, receiving and counting stock items, packing and unpacking items, and maintaining inventory records.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in delivering products to job sites.Load and unload trucks by hand.Operate a forklift occasionally (training and certification provided).Stock the warehouse.Receive and count stock items, record data manually or using a computer.Pack and unpack items to be stocked in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies.Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electronic marking tools, or other labeling equipment.Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.Determine proper storage methods, identifications, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors.Advise retail customers or internal users on the appropriateness of parts, supplies, or materials requested.Confer with purchasing personnel and vendors regarding stock procurement and availability.Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock.Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.Direct spouts and position receptacles, such as bins, carts, or containers so they can be loaded.Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.Distribute work orders to departments.Review documents and work orders to determine materials requirements or material priorities.Essential SkillsOrder pullingLoading/unloading trucksHeavy liftingUnloadingLoadForklift operationInventory managementWarehouse experience (1+ year)Moving company experience (6+ months)Order pickingGeneral laborLoaderLoadingAdditional Skills & QualificationsMinimum 6+ months warehouse experienceMinimum 6+ months working independentlyAbility to lift up to 75 lbsAbility to stand for 10+ hours a dayPreferred 6+ months customer service experiencePreferred 6+ months sit-down forklift experiencePreferred 6+ months computer experience (proficient in Word and inventory tracking system)Ability to climb on top of rail cars to unhook cables (not afraid of heights)Forklift training providedWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

You will work with a CDL driver throughout the day as part of a team of 2 people, within a total of 13 teams. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, and a work shirt or sweatshirt. The position requires standing for long hours and lifting heavy items.

This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, Nebraska.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00
