The Office Driver will provide reliable and courteous transportation services to Jhpiego staff and visitors with safety as a top priority; to provide a communication link between customers and staff; to operate and maintain assigned vehicle(s); and maintain vehicle records. This is a responsible, non-supervisory position. Duties include operating and maintaining vehicles with a focus on safety and customer courtesy; performing daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; performing minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary; fueling the vehicles; ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported; documenting customer usage; preparing trip reports; preparing accident and incident reports as necessary; assisting passengers and handicapped customers in and out of the vehicle; providing safety briefing to customers; and providing other services as requested by Jhpiego office management when not engaged in transportation service.

Understand the basic operations and maintenance requirements of the mobile unitEnsure the safety and comfort of all passengers at all timesTreat staff and passengers with respect and courteously regardless of gender, age, religion or nationalityCoordinate closely with program team to develop schedule, route and direction informationDeliver and pick up material and documents at offices and designated locations following the instructions accuratelyAlways keep supervisor informed if driving at night or if driving into areas considered potentially unsafeNever use vehicle for personal useEnsure timely conveyance of materials and documents to and from places as instructed by supervisor or manager and report any instance of mishap to supervisor/managerRepair and maintenance
Keep the vehicle neat and clean at all timesRefuel vehiclesCarry out necessary inspectionsComplete daily safety and maintenance checks of vehicle. Perform minor maintenance, repair and cleaning work on vehicles; (e.g. replace bulbs, refill radiator water, change tires).Ensure timely engine oil change and other lubricants i.e. brake fluid, engine oil, when requiredReport any case of accident, injury or damage of the vehicle to the supervisor/ managDocumentation:
Maintain accurate records including vehicle logs, fuel, oil change, maintenance record and others as requiredFollow the safety and security guidelinesNotify supervisor of any safety or maintenance concerns.Assist program team with documentation at program sites as neededSafety & Security
