Job Title: Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Drafter to create mechanical drawings of construction materials using AutoCAD. The role involves working on project-based assignments, with each project averaging about 20 doors or windows. Projects can be completed independently or as part of a team, depending on deadlines, and can last from 1 to 5 days based on size and complexity. While this is mostly an office-based position, occasional visits to the shop floor may be required to oversee the fabrication of your drawings.

ResponsibilitiesCreate mechanical drawings of construction materials using AutoCAD.Work on projects averaging about 20 doors or windows.Complete projects independently or as part of a team, depending on deadlines.Oversee projects lasting from 1 to 5 days based on size and complexity.Occasionally visit the shop floor to ensure drawings are accurately fabricated.Essential Skills1-3+ years of experience with AutoCAD, specifically with layers, stretch, and erase commands.Strong mechanical experience with AutoCAD 2D.Ability to move, modify, delete, and match existing drawings and details.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in drafting, CAD, mechanical, architecture, and detailing.Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD drafter capabilities.Work Environment

You will be part of a busy drafting team within the construction industry. The company is growing, offering a lot of work in the pipeline. The work schedule is a 4x10 format, with Fridays available for time off. The team currently consists of 6 members, including 5 drafters and the CAD Manager. The role is primarily office-based but may require visits to the shop floor. The dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
