Job Summary: Under minimal direction or supervision, measures and generates radiation dose distribution and calculations according to physician prescription.

Responsibilities:

Performs all of the duties of Dosimetrist I or II. Designs optimal external beam treatment plans for cases of all complexity levels while maintaining accepted tolerance doses on all critical structures in the treatment volume. Maximizes use of the CT, MRI, or TPS for two or three-dimensional isodose and IMRT treatment planning plans. Utilizes CT-aided beam’s eye view capabilities to assist the physician in designing treatment portals. Utilizes specialized dosimetry methods for verification of radiation doses delivered with calculated doses in certain clinical problems.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Science or completion of at least two years of formal training in Radiologic Technology with ARRT certification. Certified Medical Dosimetrist.
