The Role

Performs operational duties in support of regulatory and/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance documentation; coordinating the verification, approval, and processing of document revisions; and tracking document activity to ensure timeliness and process efficiency. Performs operational duties in support of certification, documentation; coordinating the verification, approval, and processing of document reviews and tracking document activity to ensure timeliness and process efficiency for status of ships systems to support construction schedules. Maintains a controlled technical documentation system, record retention. Assures procedures requirements are in place to verify and maintain records. Interprets and enforces all documentation, standards, policies, and operating procedure requirements. Reviews documentation, reports, specifications to determine documentation meets the requirements. Ensure all documentation is present prior to certification, notifies appropriate departments or customers of any issues and resolves inconsistencies with documentation prior to testing.

Strong technical knowledge of the Shipbuilding Construction process (Outfitting /Structural), i.e... Work package, NDT, Piping, Record Certification, Records Retention and storage.  Able to work under pressure and independently. Talented, Highly Motivated, Energetic person with a positive attitude. Able to solve problems and have plenty of patience to enabling them to provide excellent customer support. Able to follow through with assigned task promptly. Good written and verbal communication. Have knowledge to interpret drawings and work packages. Review and certify technical work documents for accuracy, (Work Packages, Work Permits, Pipe Weld Records etc..) to ensure the testing of a system meet the certification requirements for operation. Maintain technical data, such as Work Packages, Pipe Weld Records IWSS data. Produces reports to aid all parties involved in the Work Package process (Trades, Engineering, Program,. Sup Ship, etc.). Communicate all outstanding work items found during a Ship Board inspection within the Work Package process and ensure all items are adjudicated before work package closure. Uses a personal computer in performance of analysis and development of documentation/reports.  Possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to Trades, and Program. Utilize Microsoft office applications such as Excel to generate reports for Management, Trades. Proficient in using SAP. Provide assistance to Trades and Program to help certify/close Work Packages, Piping Joints. Pays attention to details and has a First Time Quality mindset. Open to new ideas/concepts that will improve processes. Able to lift 40 pounds. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others. Strong customer service skills and be able to communicate and interact with Engineering, Quality, Trades, and U.S. Government personnel. Able to adapt to changing work schedules, work assignments/location and work shifts.
