A dock lead’s responsibilities include:  Labeling boxes: Accurately labeling boxes and preparing freight for shipment  Using equipment: Safely loading and unloading trailers using equipment such as hand trucks, pallets jacks, and forklifts  Coordinating loading and unloading: Ensuring merchandise is loaded and unloaded efficiently, accurately, and safely  Leading dockhands and forklift operators: Providing guidance to dock operatives and leading forklift operators  Maintaining inventory: Ensuring inventory levels are maintained and that warehouse space is functional  Ensuring safety: Establishing and monitoring safety and security procedures and protocols  Managing conflict: Resolving conflicts and issues between team members and customers  Protecting assets: Protecting company assets and confidential information  Using handheld scanners: Tracking and maneuvering freight through a distribution network
