Responsible for the System-wide DME management program and provides support to all patient care departments and Biomed. Processes invoices for specialty bed usage, ensure maximum utilization of Durable Medical Equipment, retrieves dirty equipment, and delivers to the department for cleaning purposes.

Responsibilities Clean clinical equipment following policies and procedures.Operate cleaning and pasteurization equipment following policies and procedures.Report any malfunction of cleaning and pasteurization equipment to Biomedical Management.Provide services in a cost-effective manner.Maintain equipment records, as required.Attend meetings, as requestedMake presentations at shop meetingsPerform in-services, as requestedParticipate in on-call coverageProcess equipment recalls and alerts according to assignmentsMay cross-train to work in other areas of Clinical EngineeringMake rounds for dirty and out-of-date equipment and deliver to departments, as needed.Use a team approach to management of DME and Clinical Equipment and other equipment systems.Participate in all safety trainingParticipate in continuing education and classes, as needed

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a good work and attendance record.  Must have keyboard experience and basic computer skills.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays.  Must be able to work flexible scheduled hours. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable as defined by DCH’s insurer. Such standard is subject to time. Must be able to function well in a patient care environment, interacting with healthcare staff, patients and visitors. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
