**Job Summary and Qualifications**
**GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:**
+ Responsible for strategic direction and growth of W&C services across the Mountain Division.
+ Develop and implement business plans to support the continued growth and success of the service line within the Division.
+ Establish and lead a cohesive organizational and governance structure that supports the hospitals.
+ Provide operational oversight for select growth programs. Ensure the financial viability of initiatives.
+ Collaborate with W&C Corporate SL Leadership for best practices and growth opportunities
+ Drive physician recruitment and alignment strategies specific to W&C services
+ Establish collaborative relationships with various departments and managers within the Mountain Division hospitals and its community partners.
+ Engage and support pediatricians, neonatologists, obstetricians, perinatologists, pediatric specialists as integral parts of the development of Women’s and Children’s programs within the Mountain Division.
+ Design, plan and implement programs that promote the mission of developing Mountain Division facilities to promote the health of their communities’ services.
**DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:**
**Leadership and Governance**
+ As determined by Division President and enterprise W&C service line leadership, establish and direct division governance structure
+ Examples may include:
+ Co-chair of the Pediatric Advisory Boards within the Division.
+ Co-chair of OB Strategy Council within the Division
+ Champion a market approach to women’s and children’s services
+ Develop financially viable business and organizational models that balance and align the interests of the hospitals within the Division, thereby achieving maximum flexibility for program development.
+ Guide service line outreach efforts
+ Interface with the hospital and division’s executive teams to provide effective management direction for Women’s and Children’s programming.
**Growth and Expansion of Service Line**
+ Serve as centralized point person for Mountain Division W&C services. Negotiate deployment of resources and investment across sites with division and facility stakeholders.
+ Partner with division VP Network Integration to identify and close gaps related to W&C patient retention
+ Provide strategic direction, expertise and support related to secondary market growth/capture of W&C services
+ Lead development of optimal perinatal model and corresponding physician contracting strategy.
+ Assist hospitals with identification of best obstetric strategy and assist with execution where helpful.
+ Develop and secure formal relationships with acute care hospitals seeking pediatric and perinatal hospital partners. Lead operational assessments and gap analyses for moving forward with partnerships. Quantify success and track outcomes.
+ Elevate consistency of deployment of the various markets’ brand at Mountain Division facilities. Assist hospitals with branding, physical space consistency, staff support of concept, uniforms and other ties to Women & Children programming.
+ Serve as subject matter expert for planning, data capture, market share, opportunity assessment, marketing, sales and other growth-oriented functions.
**Strategic Planning and Business Development**
+ Formulate and gain approval for strategic and business plans and objectives consistent with the Division/ Hospitals’ mission, goals, and strategies designed to support the community and ensure their mutual success.
+ Ensure the strategic planning and operational budgeting processes are linked and support the divisions/hospital’s plans.
+ In partnership with division and hospital leadership, develop physician alignment and recruitment plans to ensure sustainability of program and physician capacity for growth
+ Partner with division and facilities to ensure robust NICU growth plans are in place; support execution of market strategies
+ Lead efforts developing comprehensive Women’s programs in UT and Eastern Idaho
+ Develop new and enhance existing inpatient and outpatient clinical programs and services to achieve growth opportunities commensurate with availability capacity.
+ Establish marketing programs that enhance the awareness and preference for the Division’s Women and Children’s programs and services among key internal and external customer constituencies.
**Physician Alignment**
+ Build strategic relationships with key growth stakeholders including:
+ Collaborating with MountainStar Care Partners (ACO/CIN) leaders and physician members to align success metrics, create awareness of market capabilities, and solicit input related to strategic development of services
+ Direct efforts of division pediatric medical director in clinical support and program development efforts
+ Build long-term relationships with pediatricians, family practitioners, neonatologists, perinatologists, and pediatric specialists in the system as well as consult with other specialists on and off the hospital campus within the various Division’s markets.
+ In conjunction with the Division VP of PPR, direct the activities of physician relations managers
+ Partner with enterprise and division resources to support development of the Division’s telemedicine programs for Women’s & Children’s.
**Philanthropy and Community outreach**
+ Collaborate with any Division based community initiatives related to Women and Children Services.
+ In partnership with AVP Community Relations, identify strategic community partners to W&C services and develop relationships
**Other**
+ Ensure compliance with IRS, OIG, and HCFA laws and regulations particularly as they apply to hospital physician’s financial relationships and business structures.
+ Establish collaborative relationships with key managers and departments in the system hospitals that support W&C services.
+ Develop programs to deliver medical services and interact with providers and consumers worldwide through affiliation arrangements, advanced communication and information technology development and if appropriate facility construction.
+ Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “mission and value statement.”
+ Other duties as assigned.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**
+ A current working knowledge of the women’s and pediatric spectrum of services, connecting maternal-fetal medicine, inpatient, outpatient, and primary care.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility in working with administrators, physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and improve disease specific programs.
+ Promote safety, health and quality of life for patients as a first priority at all times which guides the creation and growth of Women and Children programs.
+ Ability to work independently and under pressure to follow through on issues.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
+ Ability to establish and maintain long-term customer relations, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.

**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in healthcare related field or business field preferred.
+ Minimum 5 years healthcare management experience required. Administrative services and/or program development preferred.
