The Australia and New Zealand regional sales office at Industrial Scientific ( www.indsci.com ) is looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager in Australia to aggressively grow and develop our market share. This position is responsible for growing the Australian market with our world class range of gas detection products, solutions and services working with our customer base, developing new business and supporting our distributor partners throughout the sales cycle. The ideal candidate will be a confident, hard-working professional, with a positive attitude focusing on teamwork that thrives in a fast-paced, sales target and results driven work environment meeting company objectives and deadlines.
The position will be based in Australia primarily.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle at the end user and distributor levels. In addition, you will be responsible for communicating and supporting corporate initiatives to end users and distributors. This position also includes identifying, managing and evaluating current and new distribution channels.
Specific additional duties include:
• Selling gas detection solutions through distribution and directly to customers in Australia
• Generate New Sales Opportunities/Business Development
• Position Industrial Scientific suite of products, services and solutions and iNet as a service (major focus)
• Increase and self-generate new sales leads across both iNet and traditional sales
• Prospecting for new business, preparing/presenting proposals and maintaining existing relationships
• Identify new prospective contacts through online research, outbound sales prospecting calls, referrals, event attendance and other sales campaign activities (digital marketing, exhibitions where Industrial Scientific participates) • Reaching sales goals as set by management
• Develop customer base necessary to meet all sales forecasts and budgets
• Identifying, managing, and evaluating current and new distribution channels
• Train distributor partners
• Maximize profit
• Maintain high level of product and vendor knowledge
• Document all planned and completed activities.
• Attend exhibitions where appropriate
• Continuously maintain company CRM (Salesforce) and accurately capture sales funnel
• Attend sales meetings with updated reports
• Complete relevant documentation for sales progress
• Provide sales and technical assistance to customers as and when needed
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• The Company may change your duties from time to time
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
At least 3 to 5 years sales experience is in selling to Australian-based industrial customers (i.e. Oil and Gas, Mining, Chemicals, and Utilities)
• Experience working with and supporting distribution sales channels
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Experience building relationships via phone and email.
• Goal oriented. Highly ethical. Acts with integrity. Results driven.
• Motivation and creativity to successfully reach prospects and create conversations
• Organizational skills and a results-oriented self-starter attitude
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service
• Willing to travel 50% around Australia as and when the customer's and business needs dictates
• Experienced in Microsoft Office tools/programs - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, One Note
• Fluent in English (native speaking/writing proficiency)
• Candidates must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this position
• Gas detection or industrial safety experience (sales, technical or customer service) would be an advantage
• Sales management (experience managing a team) would be an advantage
• Experience in selling software and services such as maintenance programs and rental contracts/agreements is an advantage
• Proficiency in SalesForce.com would be an advantage
