District HRBP

Our Opportunity: 

Chewy Vet Care is currently looking for a District HRBP (CVC) with retail, fulfillment and/or distribution experience to support our veterinary practice operations. The District HRBP (CVC) will report to the AD, Regional HRBP, and drive engagement with Team Members, leadership development, and performance management for a MSA of veterinary practices. This person will be responsible for setting high standards and goals for the district to improve engagement, retention, and build a culture that Team Members want to be part of. The District HRBP serves as a consultant to the leadership team on human resource-related issues, acts as a team member champion and change agent, and formulates partnership across the HR function to deliver valuable service to leaders and Team Members that reflect the strategic objectives of the organization.

What you'll do: 

In this role you will provide strategic human resources support to Chewy Vet Care practices within an MSACollaborate with the CVC HRBP team to create and implement HR strategies that support business goalsAct as a strategic partner to the Chewy Vet Care (CVC) district team, providing HR guidance and input on people and engagement metrics, workforce (labor) planning, leadership planning, site visits, and building strong VOP (Voice of the Practice) routinesYou will engage Practice Managers (Operations) to understand talent needs of the business and define people strategiesPartner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure we build a proven pipeline of candidates; supporting the interview process for new practice launchesSupport communications regarding upcoming changes, policy notifications, and site-specific initiatives through direct collaboration with Practice ManagersParticipates in employee relations matters, facilitates open employee communications, and assists in the investigation of employee complaints or concernsActively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risksAssist in talent review decisions, organizational planning meetings, and support the operations team driving results of established goals or KPI’sAlign with all federal and state regulations and government reporting requirements concerning employment including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)Operate with autonomy and discretion; build a strong business relationship with all levels of the district leadership teamBe eager and willing to support and adapt to the local shifts in our practices and a significant staffing ramp, while we are launching this new business lineMust be willing to work a flexible schedule that could include nights, weekends and/or holidays as we serve our pet parentsPartner with the business to drive consistent, repeatable strategies for new launches; support the launch workback plans for the practice launches within assigned districtDevelop, build and perform CVC HRBP standard work as developed by the AD, HRBPBe expected to travel up to 75%

 

What you’ll need:  

Bachelor's degree human resources, business, or related field5+ years of progressive HRBP experience in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal / written communication, observational, and analytical skillsProved ability to influence and lead change with leaders across agile organizations, aligning the people strategy with the business goals and growthProven success in delivering high-impact people operations programs around performance management, culture, team member engagement and retention

 

Preferred Qualifications:

HR certification is a plusHR experience in retail, distribution, fulfillment or manufacturing environment with a demonstrable track record of successProven experience managing and leading HR teamsHuman Resources experience with client groups supporting 250+ hourly Team Members
