The Distributor Sales Manager will lead the Landscape Turf sales effort for Rain Bird’s Distribution Channel in the South Region and play a pivotal role to aggressively grow sales. The role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who will successfully differentiate Rain Bird from its competitors. 

 

This position is remote covering the South Region.  Candidates must reside within 30 miles of DFW, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio metro areas.

Responsibilities Achieve sales goals for assigned regionAct as team quarterback in monitoring numbers and team progress and take lead on defining strategies to grow market shareMaintain contact and enhance relations with the major accounts in the regionBe responsible for managing the selection, development, annual sales planning of distributors intended to grow shareAssist marketing in determining product needsPrepare regular and special sales reports as assigned including Monthly Reports, Annual Sales Plans, etc. coordinated with the Regional Sales team and with National Sales ManagerMaintain sales travel and promotional budgets while growing shareLead sales initiatives and programs through distribution within the regionPropose and implement sales and marketing programs to gain market share in product categories

 

Qualifications Undergraduate Degree preferably in Business, Engineering or Marketing5-8 years previous successful sales experience1 year minimum previous outside sales management experienceHighly self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to responsibilities. Capable of taking ownership of tasks while collaborating effectively within a team and thriving with minimal supervision.The successful candidate must live within the South Region (Texas) Ability to travel overnight up to 40% of the timeProficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications, with the ability to leverage technology to enhance productivityProficiency in Microsoft Excell

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in the Turf irrigation industry with a knowledge of Turf products and applications, distribution channels and customers, the Rain Bird organization, Rain Bird products, competitors, etc.Marketing experienceAn MBA or relevant graduate degree, providing a strong foundation in business principles and strategic thinkingBilingual/Speaks Spanish
