Your Role
As a Distribution Associate 1 at MilliporeSigma in Sheboygan Falls, the daily tasks include:
Accurately documenting all movement of materialsVerifying chemicals, catalog numbers, lot numbers, special request information, unit sizes, and weights against order documentation found in packing instructionsPrinting and applying all required labels and markings to boxes to comply with hazardous materials regulationsCondensing, straightening, and maintaining warehouse and dock areasReporting unsafe or potentially unsafe hazards to team leads or a member of managementUsing a powered pallet jack and manual material handling equipmentSelecting orders for processingPacking hazardous items for shipment to customers following established procedures and instructions while complying with hazard regulationsPreparing materials for shipment, verifying that all appropriate markings and labels are present on packages to comply with company procedures and DOT, IATA, and IMO regulations, and making corrections when necessaryPerforming defined audit tasks with guidanceScanning or metering products into the shipping systemPerforming miscellaneous duties, projects, and tasks as assignedFollowing good distribution practices (GDP), where applicableShift/hours: 2nd shift, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, M-F
Physical Attributes:
Wear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment "PPE" to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particlesSit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawlLift and move up to 50 pounds unassistedMove more than 50 pounds with assistanceClose vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focusRegular use of phones, computers, office equipment, and laboratory equipment
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ year of work experience in a warehouse environmentKnowledge of shipping regulationsExperience working with hazardous materialsExcellent communication skills and attention to detail proficiencyAdjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
