Looking to join a team in technology that is dynamic, fast paced and forward looking? Establish a new foundation in Business & Vendor Management in the Technology organization as the Director of Business and Vendor Management for Infrastructure. You will provide contractual, operational, and vendor relationship management across a broad spectrum of Technology products focused specifically on Technology infrastructure (e.g. telecom, networking, server, storage, data center solutions and other managed services).
How will you make an impact in this role?
The key role for the Director of Infrastructure is to work with Technology vendors and/or internal partners in identifying, defining, and enforcing contractual elements and/or internal agreements. It is critical to hold the vendor partners accountable and ensure American Express teams and vendors align to established vendor engagement polices and standards and interagency guidelines.
This is a newly established role, responsible for leading a small team with the opportunity for growth and enhancement of our vendor management oversight. The core functions of this position will include contract management, vendor relationship management, consulting and sourcing and managing vendor performance.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain positive relationships with Technology vendors and internal Technology partners at all levels Responsible for specific contract elements and relationship management of large vendor engagements in relation to vendors and/or relationship management with internal Technology partnersSupport sourcing and negotiation by providing thought leadership and benchmarking to maximize commercial value on our contracts
Partner with our key Amex stakeholders to negotiate and adhere to contractual commitments and internal guidelines
Drive optimal vendor performance across the portfolio by monitoring vendor performance against evaluation criteria defined within contracts and internal Technology partners
Address escalated vendor issues on behalf of Technology through a formal dispute resolution process from performance governance meetings
May be responsible for drafting standard contractual Technology vendor terms and conditions, in accordance with AXP’s global standards and in partnership with Global Supply Management
Partner with the General Counsel’s Office, Global Supply Management, Compliance and Security teams, as needed
Be proactive in driving business results
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field requiredRelevant work experience in contract management, procurement, vendor management, sourcing and/or third-party risk management
Supervisory/management experience including building a diverse and inclusive team
Capabilities to set an agenda, define what winning looks like with an Enterprise first mentality
Ability to influence without direct authority at all levels of the organization via verbal and written communication
Strong analytical, project management, business reporting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to come to conclusions and make clear, concise recommendations based on findings
Demonstrated consultative skills – questioning, negotiating, listening
Ability to work on cross-functional teams in a matrix environment to deliver on common goals
Understanding of the Technology industry. Experience in managing telecom and networking contracts is required
Ability to lead a team to define detailed value-added requirements and success criteria, knowledge, and experience with the product lifecycle
Demonstrated ability to manage and act as an advocate of change
Ability to champion a learning culture to drive continuous improvements and standardization
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree preferred Experience managing a full spectrum of infrastructure contracts is preferredSalary Range: $145,000.00 to $230,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
