Director of Strategy, Print Market Analysis and Planning

The Director of Print MAP will act as a key strategic advisor to senior business decision makers by delivering market insights and strategic business recommendations. The director will fully own the development of the analytical practice, tools, platforms and supporting technologies across the breadth of HP’s Print portfolio. The director will ensure that HP’s competitive position in each market is accurately reflected through reporting governance and vendor management.

Drives TAM development and market scenario analyses in support of Business Unit (BU) strategy.  Ensure Print market sizing integration across BU/CO Leadership, Market10, External Data Providers, Strategic Planning, Market Research, Services and Solutions.  Integrates insights, drivers, and sizing information to support delivery of quarterly TAM Fact base.

Market Analytics Expertise

Strong partnering with Directors of Business Intelligence, Competitive, Market Analysis & Planning, and Corporate Strategy to supply analytics and counselling for translation into meaningful growth strategies for the Company.Acting as business counsel and key strategic planning resource for senior marketing and cross-functional management.Work to enhance business analytics and reporting capabilities across HP Inc. businesses to drive competitive and market insights.

Senior Management and Business Unit Engagement: Lead the HP Inc. delivery of synthesized market insights and Chief Strategy Office Point of View (competitor, market, share, industry, etc.).Build credibility and influence at Executive Council, EVP and SVP levels.Program Management Office Approach: Leads engagement at senior and executive management levels to ensure continuity of priorities and objectives – team acting as program office.Ability to guide data flows, process mapping, relational database development, skill development, engineers creative and elegant solutions, and automation of repetitive tasks.Data management:  Ensure proper data management skills and policies are in place within span of control; mentor/cultivate approach that delivers on data to information to insights model.Structured Thinking: Logical approach, appropriate framing problems, and conclusions. Education and Experience

10+ years marketing, strategy, analytics, project management or operational experienceStrategy and consulting experienceExperience in presenting complex topics to senior executives.Prior experience managing databases and reporting systems/teams for large corporationsStatistics background or equivalent; Experience with large complex data sets, data mining.Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marketing, Finance, Economics, Programming or related field, i.e., Master Economics, Business Administration (MS/MBA) preferred.

Ensure proper data management skills and policies are in place within span of control; mentor/cultivate approach: data > information > insights

Analysis

Direct the synthesis of span of control; develop/understand/communicate a broader more-integrated picture across HP; leverage proximity to senior management to produce action from insights

Intuition

Bring additional business and senior management context/priorities to bear; conceive multiple hypotheses and scenarios; articulate and direct analyses to achieve desired goals; anticipate and pre-empt "bring me a rock" requests

Leverage organizational resources (facilitate conversations, identify, and utilize other work, integrate into broader work)

Manager + Full spectrum of HP (where necessary); build, nurture, and leverage a network of linkages and relationships outside HP that benefit the team; leverage span of control to affect outcomes; provide conduit into senior management

Proactively engage at the senior and executive management level; ensure appropriate engagement across span of control; operate between IC/manager level and senior management to ensure continuity of priorities and objectives through hierarchy

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $180,000 - $240,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
