Director Repair Depot Service - APAC

WITHIN YOUR TEAM

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as the Director of Repair Depot Services - APAC. This position requires authenticity, empathy, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement. As the Director, you will be responsible for leading, improving, and developing the depot and field service operations for our X-Rite Service Centers across the APAC region. Your role will involve ensuring that customer expectations are met by managing key service metrics, including safety, quality, turnaround time, dock-2-dock time, backlog, and productivity. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing your team with the necessary training, tools, and infrastructure to succeed. Collaboration with various teams, such as Service Admin, Operations (Standards Lab, NPI, Manufacturing Sites), and Technical Support, will also be an important aspect of this role.

WITHIN YOUR ROLE, YOU WILL:

Depot and Field Service

Lead and coordinate Depot Service and Field Service Operations in the APAC region in close collaboration with the Service Admin team.Ensure efficient regional/country geographical field coverage aligned with commercial PD for the region and customer needs.Ensure on-time delivery according to the depot's capacity and capability of product repair and certification.Manage the frequency and effectiveness of the Region's DVM and resolve problems by analysing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action through (PSP).Forecast repair backlog, anticipate trends, and negotiate resources.Ensure all processes are documented, improved, and followed using Kaizens and benchmarking other sites. Observe cross-functional processes, identify waste, and build and execute an action plan. Work closely with L1 peers to establish and support the Kaizen funnel for the Region.Work with L2 peers to align and develop budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct and indirect labor. Develop schedules and propose staffing requirements.Ensure that Service Engineers have the necessary tools to perform their activities, close identified gaps, and drive improvements by working with our Global NPI organization and/or other subject matter experts.With support from our NPI team, ensure that testing and deployment of Service Tools (Hardware and Software) for new products are on time and sustained through structured documentation (Service Manuals and Process Documents) and up-to-date training.Always ensure compliance with X-Rite internal standards.Maintain a safe work environment and uphold compliance with policies and procedures.Support the Product Manager, Global Services, in testing and deploying Service Tools for new products and ensure that Service Manuals and Process Documentation are regularly updated.

Team Leadership

Build a culture of ownership and accountability; ensure associates understand their objectives and are provided the tools, training, and guidance to be successful.Empower associates and drive a cohesive cross-functional work atmosphere with a positive attitude.Lead by example to develop a robust continuous improvement culture, develop and drive accountability around daily management and monthly KPIs, conduct PSPs, and develop countermeasures to address shortfalls.Hold 1-on-1 sessions with direct reports; enhance their engagement and satisfaction via tangible action plansHold career objective and development meetings with direct reports.Build a highly skilled and engaged team by recruiting, training, developing, and mentoring associatesLead all current and future Technical Service Engineers and Field Service Engineers for the entire APAC region and work with Global Operations Leadership on developing strategies to enhance region operational performance and business growth.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PROFESSIONAL WHO HAS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively communicating with all levels of the organization and ensuring a clear and timely flow of information.The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in leading and developing teams in a Supply Chain, Product and/or Applications, Technical and/or Field Service role.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to quickly identify systemic issues and implement sustainable solutions for lasting business benefits.Proficiency in English and Chinese is a must, and knowledge of Japanese and/or Indian languages is a plus.Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) is necessary.The role will involve a minimum of 50% travel within the country.

YOUR EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

Technical education or degreeExperience in Product Design, Commercial Product Development, Supply Chain, Technical and/or Field ServicesExposure to VES, preferably a current Certified Practitioner of 1-2 fundamental toolsExposure to QMS - Product Reliability, Test Verification & Validation and Quality Systems
