We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Director Procurement within our Procurement team to help support our Auto business. That’s right! Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. As a Director Procurement, you will have the opportunity to lead regionally based Purchasing team members, supporting Operations, new program introductions, and the indirect procurement strategies within the region.
Main Responsibilities
1. Within the new program scope of activities, insure: the implementation of the category strategies; achievement of all major program deliverables (cost, quality, timing, service, etc.). Manage the team to: prepare and present sourcing committee documentation; execute contracts reflecting the results of sourcing initiatives that adequately manage business and supply risks with appropriate legal terms and conditions. Strong knowledge of region commercial contract law.
2. Provide strategic and tactical leadership for indirect material strategies within scope of responsibility; identify areas within the commodity of sub-optimized cost and value, and implement actions to address such areas (MSA, etc.).
3. Accountable to ensure adequate support for Operations and Procurement initiative within the Branches, and within New Program activities
4. Develop and implement industry practices, standards, controls, policies, and metrics to effectively and efficiently manage scope of responsibility (if not defined by a global BPT standard).
5. Lead, inspire, and coach the Program, Operations, and Indirect Procurement teams. Responsible for hiring, retention, and team training & development - ensuring the proper level of procurement competencies
6. Accountable for provide adequate support to insure the achievement of results within the region (productivity, quality, rationalization, …)
7. Provide input for AP / DPO targets as required.
Educational requirements, Certifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related field (e.g. Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Total Enterprise Procurement , or Technical field). Black Belt certification desired, but not required.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years experience in Supply Chain or Procurement with a minimum of 5 years direct experience in business/functional improvement roles. Manufacturing experience desired, but not required.
