Job Description


Lead Operational Performance teams inclusive of Safety, Operations Systems, Innovation and Digitalization, OMS, Labor Management, Training and Quality.

Drives maximum performance by providing expert support (process, tools, facilitation, and implementation) for strategic operations, working closely with sector and function leadership to provide analysis and success criteria, and developing strategic projects for deployment. Serves as sector Operations Performance lead that partners with sector operations, external vendors, Operations Excellence, functional teams, and cross-sector support teams to achieve operational objectives


Responsible for collaborating with DHL Operations Excellence, Operations, Solutions Design, Finance and IT leaders, team members and subject matter experts to identify new digitization, automation and innovation processes and tools. This focus will allow the identification of tangible cost and labor savings opportunities North America sector specifically and their customers; other North America Supply Chain sectors (as applicable); and the DHL Supply Chain organization overall.Focus areas that this position may be responsible for to include Operations Systems; BI Analytics; Innovation/Automation; Labor Management (LMS/OMS/HSE/QA and Engineering) within a North America Supply Chain Sector team.Key operating system deliverables associated with this position to include standardize implementations, standardize configurations, create, staff and provide leadership and direction to those responsible for delivering the outcomes related to Operations Systems area.Key ‘BI Analytics’ deliverables associated with this position to include supporting Sector Analytics agenda and standardization of data analysis and respective dashboards and visuals.Key ‘Innovation/Automation’ deliverables associated with this position to include supporting the identification and implementation of approaches which solve sector and/or customer challenges in manner which drives increased effectiveness, efficiencies and return on investment (i.e., capital, people and process).Key ‘Labor Management’ deliverable associated with this position to include development and reinforcement of program methodology/approach regarding OE, HSE, and QA regarding both regulatory, customer and sector requirements. Will also ensure proper awareness, education and training related to these above areas at all organization levels to ensure proper alignment and adherence.Development, support and execution of key processes and tools related to LMS and OMS.Identify, establish and manage effective working partnerships with respective vendors.Identify and advise the sector regarding new technologies and concepts that can create automation and savings across our customer baseRecognized contributor within Digitization, Automation and Innovation areas.Clearly communicate updates to all stakeholders, including Sector Executive team – around the topic of Digitization, Automation and Innovation Strategy and identified tactical initiatives.Support the Sector Steering Committee related to Digitalization, Automation and innovation Strategy

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Systems, or related field, required7+ years of experience with supply chain, distribution or related fields, required3+ years of progressive experience in at least one of the following: operations management or an Operations Support function (i.e. Engineering, Systems, Analytics, Innovations etc.), requiredWorking knowledge of defined business unit and logistics industry processes, processing and material handling equipment, requiredBusiness and Commercial Acumen: knows how business and underlying business model works, knowledge of future trends, competition, how strategies/tactics work in the marketplace, requiredAbility to write reports, respond to inquiries: communicate with customers and regulatory agencies at a level consistent with presentations to customers and top-level management, preferredMathematics skills sufficient to perform the duties outlined above, requiredAbility to work in team oriented environment. Ability to lead and direct projects, requiredStrong computer skills including Office 365, Visual components, Work, Access, Excel, ACAD, MS Project, MS Teams, internet access and e-mail, requiredAbility to manage a team of contractors and sub-contractors as well as lead and direct project resources, requiredExcellent project management skills, required
