Job Description:

Capita Public Service is seeking a Director of Transformation & Change to join the Central Government Senior Leadership Team.

This pivotal role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major programmes and the delivery components of these. You will lead a high-performing Transformation and Change function, driving delivery excellence to meet commercial commitments in terms of time, quality, cost, and margin. This role also presents a unique opportunity to enhance and transform services utilising technology, delivering additional value for clients and increasing revenue and margin through close collaboration with Service Operations and Growth. Additionally, you will provide leadership to programme directors and functional specialists across the programmes.

What you’ll be doing:

Client Service Delivery: Oversee the full Client Group service introduction and change portfolio, aligning with Capita Public Service’s mission to be the ‘trusted delivery partner’ for clients. Inc DWP, NHS England & Transport for London

Vision and Leadership: Set and execute the vision for the Client Group Transformation and Change team, maximizing the value of technology, service design and architecture, programme management, and portfolio governance.

Team Building: Develop a high-performing leadership team, fostering a culture of high performance and delivery excellence.

Delivery Leadership: Ensure solution sign-off in bids, service readiness, and in-life changes to services, maintaining active assurance leadership for all relevant deals.

Governance: Implement robust delivery contract lifecycle governance and manage service readiness governance and performance for the Client Group.

Cost Management: Oversee the cost of transformation and change control, embedding consistent delivery management practices using CPS governance frameworks and standard tools.

Strategic Client Engagement: Lead key strategic client change delivery, managing client-facing programmes and pre-sales activities.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience: Proven track record in managing and leading large-scale, complex change and transformation initiatives for major programmes including technology

Commercial Acumen: Ability to shape, build, and drive client service delivery changes to meet commercial commitments and client satisfaction.

Collaboration: Skilled in collaborative leadership and relationship management within a large matrix environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to influence and drive results.

Leadership: Inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams in both direct and matrix environments.

Communication: Strong ability to build impactful, trusting relationships quickly with clients and internal teams.

Growth Mindset: Capable of leading change and fostering a culture of learning and delivery excellence.

Adaptability: Thrive in ambiguity, with the ability to prioritize, build consensus, and drive actions to deliver benefits at pace.

Technical Competence: Advanced/Expert level in PPM Technical Competencies
