The Boston Women's Workforce Council (BWWC) facilitates a public-private partnership between the Boston Mayors office and Boston-area employers to make sure women, and particularly women of color, are both advanced and paid equitably.
Over 200 employers have signed the 100% Talent Compact pledging to:
+ seek gender equality in their firms
+ share best practices with other Compact Signers by attending quarterly briefing sessions
+ contribute their payroll data confidentially every two years to the BWWC Wage Gap Measurement effort so that we can report a community snapshot of progress made in closing the gaps
+ provide funding for the Councils operations
The BWWC is housed at Boston University which acts as the organizations fiscal agent, allowing all membership dues to be tax deductible. All BU benefits, therefore, are available to employees of the BWWC and include health and dental care, 401K contributions and tuition remission among others.
The Director of Strategic Engagement (DSE) is a senior staff person who, in partnership with the Executive Director, is responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow and maintain the BWWC membership base. The DSE will not only lead the current programs that foster strong connections and engagement with stakeholders but will also help with any new initiatives that are implemented to in the BWWCs future. Essentially, they will act as a bridge between the BWWC and its external environment to drive positive outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
+ Recruit and retain Compact Signers, bringing in the Executive Director and/or Council Chairs or Members as needed
+ Plan quarterly events that bring members together to discuss relevant topics around wage equity
+ Act as a key point person in managing the biennial collection and analysis of payroll data from BWWC Compact Signers, the signature program for the organization. On non-data years, run the Wage Equity Awards Program
+ Manage the BWWC team in planning and producing all communication materials including the Annual Report, Social Media and Newsletters
+ Work with the Executive Director to broaden understanding of the Councils work in the region, nationally and internationally
+ Take on special projects as needed
Required Skills
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience in building relationships with senior executives, managers and/or donors to organizations. Master's preferred, but optional.
+ Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic plans for all aspects of engagement recruitment and retention in either a nonprofit donor environment or a private sector sales capacity.
+ Proven ability to plan and coordinate events both live and digitally
+ Experience managing marketing messaging for an organization
+ At least 4 years of managerial experience in a highly collaborative team environment
+ Excellent organizational and communication (writing and oral, including presentation) skills
+ Track record of achieving annual revenue goals
+ Eager to both plan strategically and offer hands-on assistance
+ Commitment to the cause and overall mission of the BWWC
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Docs
+ Experience using Salesforce
+ Experience working in a corporate environment or partnering with corporate leaders allowing for an understanding of our target audience Boston employers
+ Ability to be flexible and pivot when priorities change
+ Sense of humor
