Requirements of the Director of Staff Development Registered Nurse (RN): + Registered Nurse (RN) with effective leadership & supervisory skills in a long-term care setting + Certification needed + A minimum of three years of supervisory experience clinical services, infection control or a related area of responsibility. + Must have knowledge of state and federal regulations + Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen. Responsibilities of the Director of Staff Development Registered Nurse (RN): + Report all reportable diseases to the county and state health departments + Assist with in-services on wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care, and incontinence for the nursing staff. + Participate in planning, conducting, and scheduling in-service training classes for CNAs/GNAs and any other nursing personnel that provide instructions on “how to do the job,” and ensure a well-educated nursing service department. + Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished. + Assist in training department personnel in identifying tasks that involve potential exposure to blood or body fluids.
