As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you lead a technical area within Corporate Technology's Finance domain, driving impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job Responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures. Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations. Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains. Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams. Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies. Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists. Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent. Experience in enterprise-scale application design, development, and operational stability. Practical cloud-native experience. Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Hands-on experience with Big Data and distributed computation systems (HDFS, Spark, Apache Flink, Databricks). Hands-on experience with Java, Python & Spring Boot, and cloud-native foundations. Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.). Proficiency with AWS services, including EMR and EKS. Experience with Hadoop and Spark ecosystems.
