As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Aumni line of business, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decisions maker for your teams and being a driver of innovation and solution delivery. 

Job responsibilities

Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectivesInfluences decisions that affect teams, resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operationsDelivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domainsInfluences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teamsChampions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseExperience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talentExpertise in one or more of Java, Kotlin or Ruby on Rails as well as ReactFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts with applied experience. Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Significant experience in Microservices architecturePractical cloud native experienceAbility to present and effectively communicate with senior leaders and executives Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
