The Role
As a Director of Skynet Future Solutions, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Babcock Mission Systems is transforming and we need your support to drive our business beyond the services and projects currently delivered.

You will also seek to identify opportunities in the broader Space domain, looking to understand how solutions developed for Skynet can be exported into the broader Space market.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll lead the development of future solutions within Skynet, ensuring cohesion of activities across a range of exciting and challenging cutting-edge projects.

Responsibility for managing a multidiscipline team, to design technical and commercial solutions, so support customer requirements. Accountability for the Skynet strategy and execution. Proactively identifying new solutions and technologies to improve our capability offering. Responsibility for delivery of work packages to time, cost and quality. Planning and resourcing to support design and delivery of solutions and concept designs. Responsibility for building a strong relationship with our customer and user community, promoting capability and agility to meet mission needs.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home. This role also requires regular travel to Hawthorn and Oakhanger (Bordon, Hampshire) and Colerne (Chippenham, Wiltshire) on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.


Essential Experience of the Director of Skynet Future Solutions

Demonstrable experience of leading high performing multi-disciplinary teams. Experience in Strategic Communications, preferably Satcom. Experience in designing and delivering simple solutions to complex customer requirements. Experience in business capture, solution development and business development with demonstrable success in previous roles. Experience in planning and budgeting. Commercially astute, driven and with personal gravitas to lead.

 

Qualifications for the Director of Skynet Future Solutions

Bachelors Degree in a relevant Business or Engineering discipline or equivalent relevant professional experience. Business Masters degree preferable. Must hold a valid UK Driving License.

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
