Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Director of Rheumatology to join the Department of Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. The Hospitals are part of NYC Health + Hospitals which is the nation's largest public health system. Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards. If desired all Medicine Faculty Members have Einstein Medical School appointments.
Jacobi/ NCB has a most vibrant Rheumatology Practice. The Practice boasts active Lupus Clinics, Joint Pain Clinics, Ultrasound Evaluation and Treatment Clinics, Arthritis Clinics, and an Biologic Infusion Center.
The Jacobi Medical Center Inpatient Rheumatology Service is very active averaging approximately 7 consults per day while the North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) averages 3-5 consults per day. Rheumatology Service at both Jacobi and North Central Bronx is a division of the Department of Medicine which has approximately 110 full time physicians and 162 medical residents. The Jacobi/NCB Department of Medicine has 15 Divisions with all medical specialties represented and is also affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and strategic direction for the Division of Rheumatology, overseeing inpatient and outpatient services at both Jacobi and North Central Bronx Hospitals.Mentor and supervise a team of dedicated attending rheumatologists, fellows, residents, and medical students.Foster a collaborative and academically enriching environment, promoting research and scholarly activities.Represent the Division on hospital committees and liaise with the Department of Medicine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical programs and services, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.Participate in teaching rounds, lectures, and other educational activities.Oversee resident and fellow rotations, ensuring a comprehensive and rigorous training experience.Collaborate with the Montefiore Medical Center Rheumatology Fellowship Program to integrate fellows into the clinical and academic environment at Jacobi and North Central Bronx Hospitals.Secure external funding for research and educational initiatives.Maintain an active clinical practice with a focus on complex rheumatic diseases. QualificationsQualifications include:
Board-certified and fellowship-trained in Rheumatology with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experienceDemonstrated leadership experience in an academic medical center settingExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsStrong commitment to teaching and mentoring future generations of rheumatologistsAbility to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionalsExperience in clinical research and grant writing is desirableExceptional Benefits Include:
