POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
+ Work Schedule: Typically Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm
+ Work Hours: Full-time, First Shift, 40 hours per week

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
+ Interacting with other Health and Human Services agencies and represents the agency at internal and external events and functions. Interact with the state legislature and presents testimony as needed.
+ Producing clear and informative information based on complex healthcare costs and claims information.
+ Maintaining, analyzing and communicating a wide variety of healthcare cost, quality and utilization data.
+ Utilizing your background in data analysis to oversee and maintain the data infrastructure, as well as evaluate new opportunities to build on the data infrastructure needed to support health policy and health reform efforts.
+ Ensuring staff are adequately trained, and that contractors are appropriately overseen.
+ Writing or overseeing the production of reports, policy briefs, white papers and other products that translate the healthcare information available at OHS into information that is usable by legislators, stakeholders and other members of the public to inform policy decisions and direction.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
Acts as an executive assistant to a state elective officer or department head as defined in Section 4-5 of the Connecticut General Statutes and performs such duties as are assigned.
GUIDELINES FOR JOB CLASS USE
This class is reserved for individuals who are directing and overseeing a major program area where the size, complexity and span of control warrant an executive at this level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Experience in health policies, health services research, public health or other related field.
+ Experience in healthcare data analysis and producing public information based on complex healthcare cost and claims information.
+ Experience in the health services field including effective Program Implementation.
+ Experience in Statistical analysis and measurement.
