This individual will work closely with the broader finance organization and IT partners in developing strategic and tactical reporting solutions to ensure that reports are prepared in accordance with the reporting requirements. • Oversee the accurate and timely preparation, review, production and distribution of external corporate and bank regulatory financial reports, including reports distributed to or filed with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Federal Reserve Board (FRB). • Maintain a strong control environment and provide timely and information to various testing groups. • Maintain a thorough understanding of the various regulatory reporting requirements and ensure processes and interpretations are in compliance. • Maintain and review policies and procedures for compliance with regulations and corporate policies and standards • Communicate with internal and external auditors and examiners related to regulatory reporting matters • Provide strategic advice to the Director of Financial Reporting, Deputy Corporate Controller and other senior leaders on regulatory reporting matters. • Lead the development of implementation strategies for complex and ever-changing regulatory reporting requirements. • Pioneer automation opportunities to create efficiencies and reduce manual processes • Monitor developments both internal and external that may impact regulatory reporting • Lead ad hoc projects across the regulatory reporting team • Provide leadership, talent development, and mentoring for team members **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, review, production and distribution of external corporate and bank regulatory financial reports, including reports distributed to or filed with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Federal Reserve Board (FRB). Communicate with internal and external auditors and examiners on new and existing processes and controls to ensure agreement and adherence by all parties for regulatory reports. Ensure a thorough understanding of the regulatory reporting requirements and interpretations. 2. Provide expert counsel and advice to the Corporate Controller and other senior leaders on data integrity and quality throughout Truist’s origination and servicing platforms. Develop strong processes that ensure a high level of data integrity and internal controls. Lead the development of implementation strategies for complex and ever-changing regulatory reporting requirements. 3. Oversee the design and implementation of process changes and internal controls for new reporting requirements and monitor existing guidelines for reports to ensure that Truist remains in compliance with FRB reporting requirements. Communicate with internal and external auditors and examiners on new and existing processes and controls to ensure agreement and adherence by all parties for all regulatory reports. 4. Ensure participation in the collection and validation of enterprise-wide data used for regulatory reporting purposes. Oversee a governance group who will support the first line of defense by reviewing filings prior to submission, monitoring feedback from regulators (edit checks, email correspondence), providing reporting metrics to management and ensure that documentation is maintained according to internal guidelines. Provide leadership and direction on future strategies for enterprise data needed for regulatory reporting. 5. Lead discussion with the regulatory staff of the FRB Richmond on matters impacting Truist’s regulatory reports. Provide analysis of changes in regulatory reports to the statistics division for use in their oversight of Truist and their mandate to monitor economic activity. 6. Oversight responsibility for all aspects of the data submissions from a technical and business perspective. Ongoing coordination of all activities related to the development submissions and resubmissions, working collaboratively with the FDIC and FRB while managing expectations and communications with the lines of business, Regulatory Reporting, Risk Management and Executive Leadership. Provide support and business insight into reconciliation, validating data quality, coordinating the end-to-end review/approval process and submitting various reports to regulatory agencies. 7. Provide vision and leadership on reporting strategies, improvements and upgrades, and develop comprehensive information delivery strategies for financial reporting and reconcilement. Develop strategies to improve the timeliness, availability and usefulness of financial information. Ensure data integrity, accuracy and availability of internal and external reports. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Required Qualifications:** The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management Information Systems (MIS) or equivalent education and related training 2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation; strong technical accounting knowledge 3. Fifteen years of relevant financial systems experience, preferably in the banking industry; ten years in an environment using integrated data and governance platforms; ten years of leadership and supervisory experience 4. Intelligent, strong and decisive leadership within an organization as a result of high integrity, intellectual clarity, and a passion for excellence; strong leadership abilities including proactive thinking and teamwork to drive the best business decisions 5. 10+ years SAS/SQL programming expertise/TOAD/Aginity. 6. Proficiency in ROLAP/OLAP tools and Business Intelligence tools MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc. 7. Ten years of work experience in accessing enterprise data source and developing enterprise reporting 8. Extensive experience with data bases such as DB2, Oracle or Teradata 9. High energy level and strong work ethic to meet the demands of a fast paced, goal driven environment; results orientation, which includes meeting commitments, performance metrics, and targeted and required delivery dates 10. Self-motivated with the ability to work without supervision; ability to work under difficult time constraints and manage multiple resources, priorities and projects 11. Strong team orientation; eagerness to pitch in and help larger teams meet goals and responsibilities 12. Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products, with an emphasis on spreadsheet, word processing and database software **Preferred Qualifications:** 1. Master’s or advanced degree in Business, Finance, Economics or MIS 2. Experience with project management tools, such as Microsoft Project; project management experience and/or Six Sigma certification 3.
